Towson University SECU Arena

Baltimore, Maryland

 

The SECU Arena is a multi-use indoor arena facility, includes approximately 55,000 sq.ft. of renovated space and 170,000 sq.ft. of new expansion & a new home of Towson Tigers. The roof structure is compromised of acoustic steel deck supported by structural steel purlins that span between steel Pratt-configured trusses. The steel roof frame is supported at the concourse level which is a combination of a two-way flat plate and one-way beam and slab, cast-in-place concrete structure.  

Cost: $56 million

Elmer Henderson School

Baltimore, Maryland

 

New high performing 90,000 sq. ft. 7-acre school complex for levels K – 8 that includes classroom wings, gymnasium, auditorium, servery, library and playing fields. Facility will also serve local community functions.

 

Approximate Cost:  $42 million

Robinson Nature Center

Howard County, Maryland

 

A nature center, with LEED Platinum certification for Howard County, that
contains exhibits, classrooms, auditorium, naturesphere and offices accumulating to 26,000 sq. ft.. The structure above grade was mostly from western red cedar roof deck over wood glulam beams and columns, wall panels and roof decking. The lower & upper levels are a cast-in-place concrete flat plate system supported by exterior concrete retaining & bearing walls. The roof above the auditorium wing supports an intensive green roof.

 

Cost: $15 million

Wake Forest Biotech Place

Winston-Salem, North Carolina  

 

Renovation of an existing five-story and three-story structure that required massive facade restoration and floor to floor height modifications to make it serviceable for laboratory spaces, conference center and incubator space for research and development. Totaling 252,000 s.f. in area, it obtained LEED Gold certification and is primarily made of concrete, steel and wood. 

Cost: $74 million

McCormick & Company Corporate Headquarters

Hunt Valley, Maryland

 

New 160,000 sq.ft. office building and conference center with indoor garage levels is situated on a forested natural landscape.  Features include a convertible 150-seat cafeteria/200-seat meeting room and a three-story lobby with 18-foot diameter stained glass dome.  Structure consists of composite floor system with a spread footing foundation.

 

Cost: $15 million
